#ICYMI last week, lifelong SBS Eurovision partners in crime and commentary duo, that they will not be returning in 2017 and have bid adieu to their honourary EU citizenships, *mic drop*.
Change is always an interesting thing. Some are a little reluctant to let go of who they know, while others will look to their new leaders all doe-eyed and ready for glitter and wind machine guidance. And with the announcement looming (tomorrow!) all eyes are onwho will be the successors to the Eurovision crown and pick up Julia and Sam's dropped mics.
There's speculation and excitement, but perhaps the perfect candidate has been under our very nose, on our very screens - and tagging SBS across Twitter - this entire time.
With one more Singapore episode up his sleeve, here's why Adam Liaw's Eurovision social campaign is douze points and we think it's the best thing since sliced bread!
1. Last year, his loyalty to the Eurovision cause did not go unnoticed...
2. He already had a glowing recommendation at his disposal
3. Plus, he's already part of the SBS family (*cough* MD to the right)
4. So while he began warming up his vocal chords, ready to karaoke us into 2017...
5. Julia and Sam made their exit stage left... Adam gave it enough time to sink in before he put the moves on. 2 hours and 45 minutes to be exact.
Bonus point for a Eurovision contestant reference
4. So, based on the logic - Adam's a chef, which makes him the new Vegas street magician, which is basically the understudy for Eurovision commentators - that checks out!
5. Eurovision is serious SBS cred. Adam knows it, his followers know it...
6. So what would the European Broadcasting Union do? Take a vote! Adam gets it
7. Did we mention, he's won an AACTA!
8. He's got ties to illuminati - let's get in formation
9. The first rule of SBS Eurovision commentary - remember to share the correct hashtag
10. Second rule of SBS Eurovision commentary - do whatever it takes to give your viewers the best coverage
11. Third rule of SBS Eurovision commentary - not even your newborn takes more points
12. With Eurovision anything is possible... so you've got to be able to step in and own it
13. This year's Eurovision slogan is 'Celebrating Diversity' and Adam is all about that
14. The formula for a winning stage performance is... bingo!
15. Adam Liaw - creativity on tap, what a guy!
16. He speaks the truth and sometimes we want someone to say what we're all thinking
17. Adam keeps things current when it comes to his music knowledge
19. And just like John Cusack, Adam put out all the stops to woo the girl of his dreams...
SBS Australia took it into consideration...
And at SBS Food HQ... we came out front and we're ready to #ridewithyou all the way to Eurovision 2017. Can we entourage?
