It's official: a new world record has been set for the longest pizza ever.
The monstrous pizza comes in at around 6,330 feet (just over 1.9 kilometres), and was placed around the oval track of the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
More than 20 companies and 200 volunteers came together in order to challenge the title for the Guinness World Record on the weekend. The volunteers began creating the pizza at around 8pm, and the pizza was finally finished at 4pm the following day.
The enormous pizza contained approximately 3628 kg of dough, 2540 kg of sauce, and 1633kg of cheese.
Volunteer coordinator Jason Dees told , "It was amazing that so many people wanted to be part of something so special. It's nice to bring the record back to the United States - where it belongs, in my opinion."
Officials from the Guinness World Records were in attendance to judge the pizza.
The major event welcomed around 2000 spectators, who cheered throughout the once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.
Everyone was given the opportunity to sample the pizza after the event, but majority of the nearly two kilometres of pizza was donated to local homeless shelters and kitchens.
The Californian pizza broke the record of 6,082 feet (approximately 1.85 km), which was set in Italy last year.
