The world is divided about new Vegemite icy poles

After Vegemite dropped a Twitter bomb with Vegemite icy poles, the Internet is wondering whether summer will ever be the same again.

Sometimes, a single tweet rocks the world.
You read correctly – Vegemite icy poles are a thing that exist in 2017.

Understandably, this has caused some contention, both on the Internet and in real life. There are the people who think the yeast-based, tar-coloured spread doesn’t belong anywhere other than on bread, with an appropriate amount of butter or cheese to take the edge off (everyone knows it’s all about the ratio). Some Twitter users consider icy poles, aka ice blocks or popsicles, an adored ‘scorcher’ antidote, to be similarly off limits: fruit-based flavours only, thanks.

Here are some of the more incredulous responses to the news (shout out to whoever’s fielding this madness on the Vegemite Twitter account):

Not only did the company shatter everyone’s perception about what does and doesn’t belong in popsicle form, but it then followed up with an actual . Yes, you can make these strange, borderline devilish (depending on how you feel about Vegemite) Australiana snack hybrids at home.
It's obviously not the first time Vegemite has generated debate - in fact, it hardly seems any time since we they launched the contentious "bolder"

And us? We’re thinking it might just be hot enough this summer to give this concoction a lick – salty-and-sweet is a combo we’d bank on after all. Are you brave enough?
