Roast onions

Cooking just wouldn’t be the same without onions. Their delicious flavour adds something special to every dish they are in.

Ingredients

6 onions, peeled and cut into rings
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

Preheat oven to 200C.

Spread onions out in a baking tray and sprinkle with salt, pepper, vinegar and oil. Toss together and bake in preheated oven 30 minutes or until the onions soften. Serve with grilled steak or lamb chops.

Cook's Notes

Oven temperatures are for conventional; if using fan-forced (convection), reduce the temperature by 20˚C. | We use Australian tablespoons and cups: 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml; 1 tablespoon equals 20 ml; 1 cup equals 250 ml. | All herbs are fresh (unless specified) and cups are lightly packed. | All vegetables are medium size and peeled, unless specified. | All eggs are 55-60 g, unless specified.
