Immigration Minister David Coleman has denied claims the government's sponsored parents visa is discriminatory.
The reform which will come into effect on July 1 allows parents of migrants living in Australia to obtain a temporary sponsored visitor visa.
Only migrants with a taxable income of more than $83,000 will be eligible to sponsor their parents for the visa.
The visa costs $5,000 for three years and $10,000 for five years. Mr Coleman says the government isn't considering reducing the fees.
