A Bangladeshi origin hiker died in WA

A Bangladeshi origin hiker Kismatual Muzahid died on Saturday after hiking an 8km trek in and around Kalbarri, 150km north of Geraldton in Western Australia.

A Bangladeshi origin young man died on Saturday, 27 October after hiking an 8km trek in and around Kalbarri, 485km north from Perth. His name is Kismatul Muzahid, 27.

Mr Muzahid was with two friends in Kalbarri National Park when he collapsed in the final stretch of their hike. He sat on a stone just 600 metres from the carpark, felt uneasiness and eventually collapsed. Paramedics were called and he was dead when they arrived.

The cause of his death is yet to be determined and it can be known after the post-mortem.

If the authority hand over his dead body today after the post-mortem then his funeral will take place at the big mosque in Lakemba on Friday and he will be buried in the Rookwood graveyard, according to a source from his bereaved family.

He was the only son of Firoz Al-Muzahid and Kishwar Zahan. His mother Kishwar Jahan is a well known cultural activist in Sydney Bangla-speaking community. After his saddest demise, she has become ill and went to a hospital. Now she is staying in a relative's house. She urged to the community members to pray for her departed son.

WA Premier Mark McGowan is quoted in the as:

“Western Australia is a big and beautiful place and we promote all aspects of it including the fact you can have a real and authentic outback experience, just people need to take enough precautions and carry enough water”.
