"Earlier this month I was advertising on Gumtree to sell my brand new iPhone," said Ahsan Kabir, who lives in the Sydney suburb of Lakemba.
He says a potential buyer contacted him last Friday.
"The robber told me that he wants to buy this phone for his sister as a birthday gift and he will come at 6 pm to my unit," said Ahsan.
The buyer arrived at his house at around 9 pm. "When he entered my unit, he tried to check the serial number of the phone."
Ahsan said that the man then attempted to show him that there was some kind of problem, and that's when he says the man took out a knife from his pocket and placed on Ahsan's throat saying "Sorry mate, give me the phone."Ahsan's wife Tania was present with his six-month-old daughter. He said that when Tania saw the knife she screamed loudly - their five-year-old son also began crying.
