Miss/Mrs/Mr. India Australia-Touch the Soul 2018 is a prestigious star-studded beauty pageant, organised by Reena Koak, National Director, Miss India Australia Corporation.
Indian origin actress and model Saroni Roy secured this award this year. This award was presented to her by Miss Lebanon Australia 2016, Mary Mehajer, for her contribution to the society and her endeavours towards making a real difference in the world.
In the panel of judges, was Bollywood superstar, Miss Asia Pacific 2000, UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, Dia Mirza. Some other eminent personalities that graced the panel of judges were, Madison Croft, Brooke Murray, Bipin Sharma, Craig Kelly MP.Ms Saroni Roy said in a press release,

“It was my dream to represent India on a global platform, and the Mrs India Australia Touch the Soul gave me the perfect stage to do that. And the Goodwill Ambassador 2018 title, will give me an opportunity to showcase the true essence of the ‘Global Indian Woman’ of today, who’s breaking all myths and conventions, changing the way the world perceives her.”“I’m a cancer survivor, and being a part of this pageant and winning such a prestigious title reinforces my belief that with determination and courage, we are capable of being victorious against all odds!”

In the past Saroni has worked for International social campaigns and NGOs like India Unites for Animals (IUFA), the worldwide issue of whale hunting, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, Beyond Blue and several others.Saroni has also written extensively about Social causes and Environmental issues and projects as a journalist, in Australian publications like Indian Link and Open Ended Magazine.

She said,
“Some issues I’ve written about to create more awareness are, Organ Donation in Australia, Eco-conscious United Nations awarded dinnerware project started by two small-town boys from India, Old-age home care facilities in Australia, God-conscious environment by ISCKON in Sydney, among several others. I believe that as a journalist and writer I have the power to create more awareness about pressing issues the world is faced with and can be a change maker, and make others’ voices heard too.”
