"Bangladeshis had no reason to migrate to India after 1971"

Political analyst and columnist Professor Abdul Mannan has given an opinion to SBS Bangla about whether Bangladesh is concerned about the issue of NRC in the Indian state of Assam.


Professor Mannan said that the economic situation of Bangladesh is much better than Assam or the surrounding areas. So for economic reasons, there is no point for migration.

" There is no reason for Bangladesh to panic over this citizenry. I think this is an internal matter in India."

Addressing the issue of leaving out people from this NRC as 'Bangladeshi', and pushing towards complex situation he said, " It has to be resolved diplomatically " .
