Not only the players, but former US President Bill Clinton, Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Will Smith and many others have been served Asif’s cooked food on their plate.
“I starved very often in fear of cooking", Asif told SBS Bangla. “Then I used to call my mother. I cooked as she instructed. I don’t know if I cooked so well but my friends always appreciated me.”
Last January, during the Australian Open, Asif, was responsible for taking care of the guests along with the players who came to take part. A group of 300 employees worked under his leadership to handle the huge task.

"In my opinion, the modern method of presenting any culture is food. Food can make people very close to it," Asif Mamun said.
Asif grew up in Purana Paltan in Dhaka. Asif is the second child among the four children of father Abdul Hakim and mother Rokeya Sultana. After completing SSC from Shegunbagicha High School and HSC from BAF Shaheen College he was admitted to Jagannath University. In 2001, after completing graduation in Economics he left for Australia.
His achievements have brought him fame but his ambition is to continue the tradition of Bangladeshi cooking. “I always keep my country in my heart,” he said.
