Archbishop Moses Deng Bol of Northern Bhar el gazal and the Bishop of Wau was among the church’s leaders who met President Salva Kiir regarding the crisis in Jonglei Internal Province. In an exclusive interview with Bishop Moses Deng on SBS Dinka radio, he explained why he, Primate and the rest of the Church leaders went to the President?
“Yes, we went to President Salva Kiir to seek his intervention in the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS)’s crisis. What happened to Bishops in Bor was a security matter, and we needed protection to be offered…..Moses Anur is the Bishop of Jonglei Internal province, and the rest of the Bishops accompanied him to his Diocese…After meeting with President Kiir, he promised to talk to elders like Kuol Manyang, Rebecca Nyandeng, Micheal Makuei Lueth, and Deng Dau to help be part of the solution… So maybe our meeting with the President prompted the meeting between him and the elders.”
