  • A 67-million dollar business support package in Western Australia has been announced by Premier Mark McGowan, predicting "a bumpy road ahead for people and businesses right across WA".
  • The community of Bidyadanga in Western Australia is now in lockdown as 17 COVID-19 infections have been reported. It's the largest remote Aboriginal community in the state, home to around 850 people.
  • Western Australian Premier Mark McGowan said that the vaccination rates in the community are around 90 per cent first dose and over 70 per cent second dose, which he calls "encouraging".
  • Moderna vaccines can be booked from today for children aged 6 to 11.
  • Labor NSW Member of Parliament Walt Secord has accused the state government of adopting double standards, having anti-vaxxers within its ranks. State Premier Dominic Perrottet said he was unaware of any unvaccinated Liberal MPs and that he doesn't intend to mandate vaccination to parliamentarians.
  • South Australia has seen a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases yesterday with 1,958 new infections, up from 1,378 the previous day.
  • The South Australian Premier Stephen Marshall will likely delay the announcement of a further easing of restrictions, which was expected today.
  • All COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted in England starting from today. The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that it's not time yet to "declare victory over Covid as this virus is not going away" but it was time to complete a "transition back towards normality".
  • Iceland will also lift all COVID-19 restrictions from tomorrow Friday 25 February, including border restrictions.
