New South Wales
NSW has recorded 1,480 new locally acquired cases, and nine deaths. Out of nine people who have died, seven were unvaccinated.
Fragments of the virus have been detected in the Bonny hills area, while Glebe, Waterloo, Redfern, and Marrickville suburbs have also been flagged due to a rise case numbers. NSW Health urges residents in those areas to get vaccinated.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian says 75 per cent of residents have now received the first dose of the vaccine, while 45 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Victoria
Victoria has recorded another day of 221 new locally acquired cases, with 98 linked to known outbreaks.
