COVID-19 Update: Northern Territory extends lockdown as new cases emerge

  • Northern Territory to remain in a lockdown or lockout till 4 December after the state records 3 new local cases, out of which one is an infant.
  • Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says quick trips to Sydney ‘out of the question’ until Queensland achieves 90 per cent vaccination target.
  • NSW calls for an overhaul of the testing system for domestic travellers.
  • South Australia has opened quarantine-free travel for travellers from NSW, ACT and Victoria. 43,000 travellers have applied through the website since Friday afternoon. 
  • People travelling from Local Government Areas with less than 80 per cent vaccination rate and community transmission will still need to quarantine in South Australia.

COVID-19 STATS:

Victoria recorded 827 locally acquired cases and 19 deaths. Out of these, 17 were not vaccinated.
NSW recorded 173 new community cases and two deaths. 
ACT has recorded 19 new local cases.
