COVID-19 update: NSW aims to open international borders by Christmas, Victoria confirms new pop-up vaccination hubs

NSW has recorded 1,262 new locally acquired cases, and seven deaths.

From 13 September, up to five fully vaccinated residents outside the

12 local government areas (LGAs) of concern

will be allowed to meet outdoors. Those who live inside the LGAs of concern can go out for a picnic or recreation with fully vaccinated members of their household for two hours each day in addition to unlimited exercise.

Premier Berejiklian says the state aims to open international borders by Christmas as 78 per cent of the population over 16 has received one dose of the vaccine, and 45.58 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Victoria

Victoria has recorded 392 new locally acquired cases.

Premier Daniel Andrews says there are 7,000 first-dose Pfizer appointments available in the coming week across state-run clinics.

New pop-up vaccination hubs will open up across Victoria in eight schools and local government areas of Hume, Dandenong and Casey, including a Greek Orthodox Church in Thornbury, a Hindu temple site in Mill Park and a mosque in Newport.
