NSW reports a new high record of COVID-19 case
Victoria records 190 cases as vaccination rates ramp up

NSW has recorded 1,533 new locally acquired cases, and four deaths, with 173 people with the virus in intensive care units and 62 on ventilators.

Health Minister Brad Hazzard says 72 per cent of eligible NSW residents have now received their first dose, and just under 40 per cent are fully vaccinated. Authorities are calling on police and emergency workers from 12 LGAs of concern to get vaccinated this weekend,

Victoria

Victoria has recorded 190 new local cases, with 103 linked to known outbreaks. Sources of 87 infections remain under investigation.

As the state is expected to reach 70 per cent first-dose vaccination earlier than expected, Jobs Minister Martin Pakula announced an extension of
