COVID-19 update: NSW to start easing some restrictions for fully vaccinated residents from Monday

  • COVID-19 detected in areas of regional NSW with no recent cases

New South Wales
NSW has recorded 1,542 new locally acquired cases, and nine deaths.  

From Monday 13 September, up to five fully vaccinated residents outside the  will be allowed to meet outdoors. Those who live inside the LGAs of concern can go out for a picnic or recreation with fully vaccinated members of their household for two hours each day in addition to unlimited exercise. 

Fragments of COVID-19 have been detected in sewage treatment plants in Tamworth, Lightning Ridge, Glen Innes, Culburra Beach and Moruya. 

From Monday 13 September, NSW Health will provide online video updates instead of the 1100 live press conferences.

Victoria
Victoria has recorded 334 new locally acquired cases, with 149 linked to known outbreaks. One person has died. 

Twenty  have been disrupted after a train driver who travelled from the Southern Cross Station to Gippsland tested positive to COVID-19. It is expected the disruptions could expand to 100 services.

Australian Capital Territory
The ACT has recorded 24 new locally acquired cases, with at least six in the community while infections. 

Authorities invite people to bring forward their existing vaccine bookings through  over 30,000 additional appointments are available.
