COVID-19 Update: Tasmania and South Australia to ease border restrictions

This is your update on the Coronavirus in Australia for 19 November 2021.

  • South Australia will open its borders on Tuesday, 23 November but travellers coming from Local Government Areas with lower than 90 per cent vaccination rate will not be allowed to attend high-risk venues like hospice care and Adelaide Ashes test.
  • Travellers from Victoria, NSW and ACT will need to do a symptom-check every 14 days via phone app in South Australia.
  • NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet says that by 15 December, almost all restrictions in the state will be lifted.
  • Tasmania will lift restrictions on dancing and drinking at events, pubs and clubs from 6 December for fully vaccinated people. State will open borders with hotspots on 15 December.
  • Tasmania launches ‘5-day vaccination blitz’ to incentivise vaccination for teenagers by offering them iPhones and iPads

COVID-19 STATS:

Victoria recorded 1,273 locally acquired cases and eight deaths. 
NSW recorded 216 new community cases and three deaths. 
ACT has recorded 17 new local cases, NT two.
