COVID-19 Update: TGA approves Pfizer booster as fully vaccinated Australians ready for take-off from Nov 1

  • The TGA has approved the Pfizer vaccine booster shot for all Australians aged 18 and over to be given six months after the second vaccination.
  • An epidemiologist warns against fast-tracking plans for unlimited travel throughout NSW.
  • Fully vaccinated travellers will no longer need an exemption to leave the country, ahead of the international borders reopening on November 1.

The state has recorded 304 new local cases, an increase on yesterday's figure of 282.

Victoria

Victoria has recorded 1534 locally acquired COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths as businesses prepare for more restrictions to ease on Friday.

The state government is offering $2000 vouchers to allow cafes, hotels, restaurants and bars to purchase equipment.

The QR code check-in app is also being upgraded and will soon be able to inform users if they have visited an exposure site.
