Victoria

Victoria has recorded 1,420 new locally acquired cases. Eleven people have died, bringing the toll of COVID-related deaths in the current outbreak to 68.

The government plans to roll out 2.2 million rapid antigen tests throughout the healthcare system, before being expanded into "particularly risky settings" including schools, emergency services and more.

Health Minister Martin Foley says that over 90,000 Victorians were vaccinated yesterday, making up more than half of the vaccines delivered nationwide on Tuesday 5, October.

New South Wales

NSW has recorded 594 new locally acquired cases and ten deaths.

A new

Hardship Review Panel

has been established to consider financial support for businesses experiencing financial hardship that do not qualify for COVID-19 business support measures.

The panel will assess on a case-by-case basis businesses which did not meet the eligibility requirements for the 2021 COVID-19 Business Grant, Micro-business Grant and JobSaver payments.

Australian Capital Territory

The territory has recorded 28 locally acquired cases and one death.

One infant has tested positive in the special care nursery of the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children.
