After the  and , here comes the croissant taco, and we're not sure what to think…

The tacro comes from San Francisco bakery . The city is known for its good bakeries and the state, California, for its delicious Mexican food - so it was only a matter of time before somebody put the two together.

Vive la Tarte launched the tacro to celebrate the opening of their second bakery earlier this year.

Whether you're a croissant purist or not, you have to admit the tacro looks pretty snazzy.
But what about the taste?

"We took our regular croissant dough that we make and we tried to fill it with pulled pork or with chicken, and we found that the flavors didn't combine well," .

"The pastry was way too rich, way too buttery, way too sweet.

"We went back to the drawing board and we said it needs to be saltier, needs to be a bit more savory."

The fillings are different depending on the day. So far, the pulled pork and fruit salsa, chicken and avocado, and the pineapple and jackfruit are very popular.

A tacro is sold for US $12 at Vive la Tarte. Is it worth it? According to, a media from San Francisco, kind of.  Writer Brea Salim says that it's not bad and that she likes it better than a , because the croissant is close to a traditional one, only with added fillings.

On Instagram, people are raving about the tacro:
