Dr. Sven Buder is an astrophysicist and researches the night sky in Canberra — with a particular focus on so-called galactic archaeology. In this interview, Buder talks about his journey from Germany to Australia, his current research and the challenges that satellite systems such as Starlink pose for astronomical observation. He also talks about the importance of indigenous star knowledge and cooperation with First Nations astronomers.
