Health Minister Mark Butler has announced more than $500 million dollars in funding to reduce the burden of lung cancer in Australia and drive equitable cancer outcomes for First Nations people. Health Minister Mark Butler has announced over $500 million in specialised funding to reduce the burden of lung cancer in Australia.

This includes $260 million [[263.8 million]] in funding to launch a National Lung Cancer Screening Program - which experts say could save up to 12,000 lives in its first ten years of operation.

The program will aim to detect lung cancer in Australians early, when it is still curable.
