'We will never forget': 47 years since the Turkish Invasion in Cyprus

The Cyprus Coordinating committee (SEKA Victoria) is organising a series of events to show support for human rights in Cyprus following the illegal invasion of the island by Turkey in July 1974 and the continued occupation of the island since then. SEKA Victoria President talks to SBS Greek.

The Program of the 47th Anniversary of the Turkish Invasion in Cyprus 

Friday 16th July 2021, 5-6pm (Subject to COVID-19)

Candlelight vigil at the steps of the Victorian Parliament House, in protest against the invasion and illegal occupation of 37% of Cyprus by Turkish Troops.

Sunday 18th July 2021, 10am

Memorial Service at Saint Efstathios Church 221 Dorcas Street South Melbourne

Sunday 18th July 2021, 12pm

Australian Hellenic Memorial: Wreath laying ceremony at the Australian Hellenic Memorial, Birdwood Avenue Melbourne.

The Friday event and the Sunday Memorial Service are subject to COVID-19 restrictions.
