Can East and West Resemble Yin and Yang?

Professor Meri Buzaglo tells us about the horrible shock endured by the Israeli society on 7th of October 2023. While it seems impossible to believe in peace and harmony following the October massacre, Meir still believes that one ought to distinguish the "murderous" Hamas from the Palestinians and Muslims in general. That the monotheistic religions have more in common than what separates them. And that Jews and Israelis who have come from the East have a special role in creating such bridges.

Professor Meir Buzaglo is a resident of Jerusalem. He is a member of the Philosophy Faculty at The Hebrew University. His fields of research include the philosophy of mathematics, language, and Judaism.

He is a leader of the renewal of Jewish tradition and liturgical poetry (piyyut) in Israel, and in recent years he has also led the Tikkun movement for social change.

One of the novel goals of Meir is to build a shared society between Eastern and Western Jews and between Jews and Arabs while referencing the Jewish-Arab legacy.
