Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert, who was jailed in Iran for spying for Israel, in a fascinating & revealing interview to SBS (English)

Our guest today is Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert, a Melbourne scholar of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies who was falsely charged with espionage and imprisoned in Iran for over two years before being released in a prisoner exchange deal negotiated by the Australian, Israeli, and Thai government.

She attended a conference in Iran and was arrested at Tehran airport as she was returning to Australia.
Accused of being a spy, apparently because her husband was an Israeli citizen, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
In a revealing interview to SBS, Kylies gives us an insight into the 804 days in the notorious Iranian Jail where she endured psychological torture, solitary confinement in a tiny bare cell, and degrading dehumanizing treatment by the Revolutionary Guards, an ordeal that changed her life completely

She is also very grateful to the Israeli government that agreed to the deal orchestrated by the Australian government that involved exchanging her with three convicted Iranian terrorists from a Thai prison. In our interview Kylie also expresses her love and admiration to the Iranian people, who are suffering under this regime.

Kylie details her ordeal, in a fascinating book/memoir, “The Uncaged Sky”
