From the Biblical Philistines to the Balfour Declaration - A brief history of Palestine

Lord David gives us a lucid exposition regarding the origin of the term “Palestine”. Lo and behold, we are told that there is no connection whatsoever between the biblical Philistines, the Hellenised Palestine during the Greek and Roman eras, and between today’s Palestinians. Then David explains the wording and the intention of the Balfour Declaration that was issued by the British Government in 1917:

“His Majesty's Government view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavour to facilitate the achievement of this object.”

David strongly suggests that those who chant “From the River to the Sea” should take the trouble to learn a little bit of history.
