Varun Kumar, a student from Nalgonda in Telangana, has alleged that he missed his IELTS exam in Chennai as his passport was not delivered in time by the postal department.
Mr Kumar took to Twitter to complain and demanded compensation.
According to his tweets, he had travelled to Chennai to sit the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.
However, he had apparently forgotten to carry his passport, so his father sent it to him by registered post.
Mr Kumar alleges the post was not delivered in time and he missed his exam.
"It was you because I missed my IELTS exam which costs Rs 12650, and I have been searching for my article with my own expenses, without even having proper food around Chennai, Nalgonda, Hyderabad (sic)," read one of Mr Kumar's tweets.
He is demanding that the postal department reimburse him the travel charges and the exam fee of Rs 12650.
India Post has taken notice of Mr Kumar's complain.
In a tweet, it said, "Your complaint is forwarded to concerned Official, we will revert you soon. Thanks."
