A 56-year-old Indian woman, resident of Melbourne, was struck by a car and pinned against a barricade around 2.30am on Monday morning, reported.
The woman identified as Mrs. Singh was inspecting a taxi she owned which had been involved in a minor incident in Truganina, Melbourne’s West when she was struck by a car.
Mrs Singh’s husband Gurdev told that his wife was recovering at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and will be undergoing surgery later today.
“The doctors said they affect… her leg and right hand side… very, very badly,” Mr Singh said.
A tow-truck driver who was present at the scene with the woman noted down the car’s registration details which helped the police track down the driver.
Victoria Police arrested the 37-year-old driver of the alleged car from Truganina on Monday morning.
He was questioned but later released pending further investigations by Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives.
More details awaited.
