Police was called in at Village Cinemas in Southland, Melbourne after a scuffle broke out during the screening of Bollywood blockbuster, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
reports a 31-year-old man was attacked when he walked out of the theatre to complain to the management about two men who were being loud inside the theatre.
A fight broke out and witnesses and staff had to intervene to break the scuffle.
Kingston crime investigation unit detective Senior Sergeant Shane Cashman told , “Police were called but the two suspects had left. This is significantly worrying behaviour. People go to the cinema to have a relaxing time with friends and don’t expect to be confronted with violence.”
Police said the suspects later returned to the cinema and told police they were the victims.
Police will be reviewing CCTV footage and has urged witnesses to come forward with information about the incident.
An eyewitness, Pratik Prajapati, told SBS Hindi that the fight was 'pretty intense'.
"Three guys in the theatre first had a verbal fight with a couple sitting behind them. The man complained to the management and the staff came out to talk to those three guys.
"Then everything was fine throughout the movie. But suddenly after the movie, a fight broke out between three guys and the couple. The physical assault was pretty intense. The girl started crying and called somebody on the phone.
"One of the guy from those three men was especially loud and scary."
