The recent deaths of cricketer Shane Warne and Labor senator Kimberley Kitching at the age of 52 have led to an increase in people getting a heart checkup. In Australia, chronic heart disease was the leading cause of death in 2019, accounting for 10,448 (12 per cent) deaths.
