The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) has long celebrated the significant role of the Indian diaspora in shaping the global landscape. This year, the 18th PBD recognised 27 Indians living abroad with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award for their exceptional contributions both in India and worldwide. Among the awardees is Professor Ajay Rane, a urogynaecology specialist based in Townsville. In this podcast, SBS Hindi speaks with Professor Rane about his journey in Australia, the impact of his work, and how receiving the award reinforces the connection between the overseas diaspora and their Indian roots.
