The UN General Assembly has declared 21 December as World Meditation Day to raise awareness about meditation and its benefits. The theme for this year, ‘Meditating together, connecting globally,’ underscores meditation's vital role in encouraging global peace and unity.

Speaking with SBS Hindi, Vivek Kulkarni from the Art of Living, Adelaide Australia explained the technique of focusing attention, or how to train the mind and achieve a state of mental clarity.

Kulkarni said this designated day is a great opportunity to start practising meditation if one has not yet.
When we meditate together, it not only uplifts the inner energy of an individual but the entire communities.
