Jasmine Tierra told SBS Hmong that ever since she was young ,she loves music and she is from a family with music history and so music is in her blood.
Besides, due to her family used to move to and live in many different states in the United States of America, she has came across different color of communities, but one particular that lead Jasmine to sing Hmong is Hmong communities in Minnesota, where over 55% of student is Hmong.
While she was still in this state, a lot of stuff was going on, having Hmong classmates, learning Hmong and the love singing, finally lead her to win Hmong New Year Singing Competition and ending up writing her Hmong mix with English songs and record her own album. Since then she has never looked back.
Jasmine says that Hmong is a tone language and it is pretty hard at the beginning but when you master it, it is quite easy.

She has been to Southern China and sung during Hmong Chinese New Year recently, where she said, initially they were shocked that a westerner can sing Hmong, but then they really enjoy her accompany.
Jasmine is planning to do singing performance with Hmong Australia Festival in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia this June 2019 and later on participate with Far North Queensland Hmong Youth Society before she return to the states.
