Measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which is thought to originate from the sale of wildlife on the market in China, were also carried out by the Indonesian government.

Even though there is no positive case of coronavirus infection found in the country so far, the authority says that surveillances have been carried out at 135 entrances to Indonesia from abroad.

"135 entrances to our country have been guarded 24 hours continuously, and are reported at all times to the ministry of health and the ministries of the relevant institutions," . The authority uses thermal scanner to check on passengers' body temperature.

Previously, the minister requested for people not to be panic in responding to the spread of this deadly virus overseas.

"Out of the 1.4 billion people there, there's around two thousand (affected by the coronavirus)," the Minister of Health says. "Two thousand out of the 1.4 billion is like what.. That's why the prevention is not to be panic, do not be worried. Just enjoy, eat enough."
As part of this preventative measures, the Indonesian Ministry of Health is reported to have made an agreement with all airlines to disinfect aircrafts that will depart for and also return from China.

"It is agreed that the airline would conduct its own disinfection of the aircraft cabin after arriving at the destination airport," said Secretary General of P2P Ministry of Health Achmad Yurianto

"So they agree to disinfect the cabin themselves after they have dropped passengers off and we control the deal."

Mr Yurianto also adds that the public needs to understand that this virus cannot be transmitted through inanimate objects, such as plane, and emphasises the importance of maintaining personal hygiene by washing hands before eating.

The number of confirmed deaths from China's viral outbreak has risen to 131, with authorities in central Hubei province on Wednesday reporting 25 new fatalities and 840 new cases.
