The Truth and Reconciliation Commission - abbreviated as KKR - is an institution planned to have the task of uncovering cases of violations of human rights and upholding the truth and revealing the abuse of power that occurred in the past.
The formation of the Aceh KKR was only officially realized in 2013 after the Aceh DPR ratified the KKR regional regulations (qanun).
Since then there have been several hearings held regarding the alleged past violations of Human Rights (HAM) experienced during the Aceh conflict from 1976 to 2005.
Deputy Chief Commissioner, Aceh KKR, Evy Zain gave his explanation while attending the Public Seminar on the Aceh KKR held by the Sydney South East Asia Center from Sydney University.
