Christmas in Indonesia in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Christmas celebrations have been asked to be simplified. Appeals came not only from the government but also the church itself. One of the reasons is the concern that COVID-19 cases will re-emerge amid the threat of a new variant of Omicron.


Christmas still has to bring a sense of happiness even in a pandemic atmosphere. Therefore, in simplicity, Christians in Indonesia will still absorb the message of Christmas.

Alboin Christopher Samosir, from the Central Board of the Indonesian Catholic Student Association (PMKRI) shared the feelings and joys of Christmas in the following interview.  This includes an invitation and awareness to interpret Christmas through limitations, without reducing gratitude.
