Is it true that chicken soup has a "magical power"? Research shows that this simple dish might be very helpful with recovery or at least alleviating the flu.

Nothing can fight cold or flu better than homemade chicken soup.
For centuries, in many different cultures, chicken soup has been highly valued not only for its taste but also for its therapeutic properties.

Although there are many different recipes for chicken soup, most of which are beside chicken, onions and carrots are also used. This ingredient can be another key to the 'magical power' of chicken soup.

Onions contain Quercetin, which is a powerful natural anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant.

Carrots are a source of beta-carotene, which our body converts into vitamin A. This vitamin helps white cells to fight infection.

And finally chicken - contains an amino acid called cysteine, which may thin the mucus in the lungs, making it easier to cough out.

Even though chicken soup may not be a medicine, it will definitely make someone feel better.
