Confusion over Opposition Group's Migration Policy

Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton was asked to clarify the Coalition's position on migration, after his spokesman, Dan Tehan, appeared confused about the coalition's permanent migration targets and visa skills. Mr Tehan also confirmed the Coalition government would cut Australia's number of humanitarian visas by 20,000 visas.

To hit the Coalition's migration target, Mr Tehan confirmed the Dutton government would cut Australia's refugee admissions by 20,000 people, and reduce foreign student admissions by at least 30,000.

Meanwhile parental visas and spousal visas will not change under a Coalition government.
