SBS Indonesian was talking to Ms Hilda, manager of the Warung Ita located at Lakemba, Western Sydney, famous for their Indonesian halal food Padang style.

Lakemba may not be as bright and modern as other suburbs in Sydney, but in terms of food the variaty is very impressive, where a long list of multicultural food menus can be found, but is dominated by foods from Middle Eastern regions such as from Lebanon.

There are also several restaurants serving food from other countries, which boost the food variety in the area. One of them is an Indonesian restaurant known as Warung Ita which is located on the main road of the Lakemba.

Warung Ita located at the southern end of Haldon Street, is also a gathering place for South Asian Muslim shops, and multicultural customers backgrounds such as Bangladesh, India and Pakistan, as well as Somalia and Lebanon's second generation.

Warung Ita was founded in 2002 by Mr. Nazar Iljas together with his wife Ibu Ita. And the name of the shop is obviously derived from the name of Ibu Ita. Now they both have retired and entrusted Warung Ita to Mrs. Hilda and Mrs. Ida.
