A historic landmark Hordern Pavilion stands as one of Sydney's most iconic and versatile live music and event venues.

The Hordern Pavilion is located in the middle of the bustling Moore Park Entertainment Quarter.

With a rich history dating back to 1924, Hordern has played host to some of the world's greatest artists, legendary performances and memorable events, making it a cornerstone of Australia's cultural and entertainment landscape.

The pavilion was originally built as an exhibition space for the Royal Agricultural Society of New South Wales.

The pavilion was named in honour of the enterprising Hordern family in retail business, Anthony Hordern and Sons, and Sir Samuel Hordern, who were influential retailers and philanthropists in Sydney and were president of the Royal Agricultural Society from 1915 to 1941.

The building was designed by the Northern Sydney architectural firm, Trenchard Smith & Maisey to showcase agricultural and industrial produce.

Its grand, domed architecture, as well as its spacious interior quickly made it a popular destination for large-scale events.

One of the greatest advantages of the Hordern Pavilion is its versatility. With a capacity of up to 5,500 people, it is ideal for concerts, festivals, corporate events and even sporting events.

Its strategic location, just minutes from Sydney CBD, makes it easily accessible to locals and tourists alike.

Over the decades, Hordern evolved from an exhibition hall into a major entertainment venue.

Hordern also played an important role in the Australian music festival scene. It has been the main venue for events such as the Big Day Out and the Splendour in the Grass side show, which attracts music lovers from all over the country.

In the 1980s, it became a hub for punk and rock acts, with bands such as The Clash and The Cure putting on riveting shows. In the 1990s and 2000s, the venue was graced by world stars such as Prince, Radiohead, and Kanye West, as well as local heroes such as AC/DC and Midnight Oil.

In addition to music, the Hordern Pavilion has also been the venue for comedy shows, political rallies, and even wrestling matches. Its ability to change in various events has made it a beloved venue for various events.
