Laboratory research, in Indonesia, found a type of Covid-19 virus that has mutated to be 10 times more infectious.

The mutated virus was coded D614G and was found in Europe, but later spread around the world, due to human movement.

Indonesia is one of the countries where this mutated virus is found.

However, the public does not need to be afraid and worried, because the fact that infections rates 10 times more infectious have only been detected in the laboratory, and it still needs to be proven whether the same impact will occur in humans.

Chairperson of the UGM FK-KMK Genetic Working Group, dr. Gunadi, SpBA., PhD, who participated in researching the mutation of this virus in Indonesia gave this interview to SBS Indonesian.
