Election campaign jargons or slogans from Indonesian presidential and vice presidential candidates are increasingly common, especially as it is closer to the election day. Can this slogan win over potential voters and will these political promises be kept?

Indonesia will hold general election in February 2024 to elect a new president and vice president.

The country's General Election Commission (KPU) has named three pairs of candidates who will compete to win the people's vote.

Over the next three months, the three couples will travel around Indonesia to win the hearts of voters.

It is generally known that jargons or slogans will be widely voiced, for example defending the people, working for the nation and state, protecting the little people, fighting sincerely and so on.

Even though it feels empty and has no meaning, this kind of slogans are still widely used by politicians.
