A study at Flinders University has identified barriers affecting migrants in finding a home in their new home.


In many high-income countries, the housing market is tight and expensive, making it increasingly difficult for refugees and asylum seekers to get stable and affordable housing.

Refugees and asylum seekers in high-income countries are struggling in their efforts to get stable and affordable housing.

Things like language, lack of rental references, and discrimination have hampered their efforts iwhich can adversely affect their health.

Researchers at Flinders University in South Australia traced the lives of 25 refugees and asylum seekers in Australia over three years, and highlighted how housing quality and stability significantly affected physical and mental health.
