The JobKeeper support scheme has been a lifeline for millions of Australians. But from Monday, the wage subsidy has been scaled back.

Eight days out from the delayed federal budget, millions of Australians have had their government support payments reduced.

The $1500 a fortnight payment has been cut by $300 dollars for fulltime workers and halved for part-timers.

While the Federal Government points to a 'manufacturing renaissance' to drive down unemployment, Labor says JobKeeper and JobSeeker are being withdrawn too quickly.

Professor of finance at the University of NSW-Canberra Max Tani tells SBS Italian how this Government's decision could affect Australia.
