90-year-old Kay Tang teaches Japanese folk dance for over 20 years

Kay Tang, a 90-year-old Taiwanese immigrant to Australia, has spent more than 20 years teaching Japanese folk dance to the community as a volunteer.

Kay's contribution was recognized at this year's NSW Premier's Harmony Dinner and she received Highly Commended for the Arts and Culture Award of the

Premier's Harmony Medals 2019

In the audio, Kay tells us how she started teaching Japanese folk dance in Sydney and shares her fond memories during the over 20 years of volunteering.  Kay is still teaching and plans to continue.

Michiko Farrell, an assistant to Kay in the MOSAIC Japanese Folk Dance Group, explains to us about the group and its activities.
