Elizabeth Lee has been elected leader of the Canberra Liberals at a party room meeting on Tuesday morning, defeating former leader Jeremy Hanson.
Her deputy will be Giulia Jones, who has been a member of the assembly since 2012 and represents the seat of Murrumbidgee.
Ms Lee's appointment comes after former leader Alistair Coe chose not to recontest the position following the Liberals' sixth consecutive election loss last weekend.
Alistair Coe, who led the party for four years up to the election, did not seek to remain as leader while former leader Jeremy Hanson was unsuccessful.
Ms Lee was 7 years old when her family moved from South Korea to Australia and she has lived in the ACT since she was 18.
She worked as a lawyer and a university lecturer before entering the ACT Legislative Assembly in 2016.
