The Sydney Opera House has made its first foray into Korean pop with Sydney-based dance-crew HORIZON taking over the iconic building both inside and out, to film a new dance video set to the smash hit ‘No Air’ by The Boyz.

The video is available to watch now on Stream, the Opera House’s streaming platform.

Originating as a K-Pop university society in 2017, HORIZON exploded in popularity after landing first place in the Oceania region in the  in 2021, and going on to win second place in the global grand final in Seoul.

The festival attracts thousands of entries around the world annually and features guest judges who are actively involved in Seoul's K-Pop industry.

2022 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival Aus Final is to be held on 9th July in ICC Sydney. 

The resulting digital work sees HORIZON performing across Opera House locations including the Joan Sutherland Theatre’s breathtaking Northern Foyer and the iconic Upper Podium, and is the largest-scale offering yet in the  series - the Opera House’s ongoing series of new digital commissions designed to platform a diverse cross-section of early career interdisciplinary Australian artists working at the forefront of digital performance.
 
Since its inception nearly a decade ago,  has engaged tens of millions of people around the world through livestreams, performance films, podcast series, short films and original digital commissions.

Led by Stuart Buchanan, the year-round program presents new work at the intersection of digital and live performance by iconic artists, emerging voices and diverse local communities, alongside original presentations for schools through our Digital Creative Learning program; and multiple series of Sydney Opera House podcasts.
