We engage in a conversation with Yvan Karezi, a Kurdish-Australian co-creator and performer in PYT Fairfield’s audacious production, regarding the new play Khair. This work honours Middle Eastern mysticism within a modern context, taking place in a struggling hair salon that also serves as a site for mystical healing. The play intricately blends elements of magic, humour, and the supernatural, offering a novel and surprising theatrical experience.
