The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has conducted insurgencies against Turkiye for four decades, has disbanded and surrendered its weapons. This declaration follows a request from the group's incarcerated leader, Abdullah Öcalan, for dissolution as part of a proposed agreement by the Turkish government regarding his potential release.
